Bern, Switzerland, Friday, December 7, 2018 – For the end of year event, the team of CIS Pharma sets out to Bern, the capital of Switzerland. Our city guide Domenico Bernabei carries his heart and soul on his tongue and quickly catches our attention with city anecdotes of the last four centuries. His knowledge and entertainment skills got him featured on Swiss National Television. The tour takes us to the Bundeshaus, the home of the legislature “Swiss Federal Assembly” and the executive “Council”. Over cobblestones we pass the Swiss National Reserve and cross town through the famous arcades to the oldest town gate in Bern, the Zytglogge. Schänzliterrasse offers a most spectacular view over the city of Bern that is built on seven hills.

About Bern

Bern, the capital of Switzerland, on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1983, lies on a loop of the Aare river. The city’s origins date back to the 12th century. The medieval old town is characterized by its sandstone buildings with their arcades (called arbors), which extend over a length of six kilometers and form the longest covered shopping promenade in Europe. Bern has been the Swiss federal city since 1848 – and thus the center of political events. The Bundeshaus (federal house) is the seat of government and parliament of the Swiss Confederation.
